„Flota mira Mirno more Serbia“
Since 1994 Austrian Society „Mirno more - Friedensflotte“ has been the organiser of the project named „Peace fleet“. This project is intended to be for the children and the young of different ethnical and social origin, the members of marginalized levels of the society and war–touched regions. With its unique and perfectly realized idea, this became one of the biggest and the most successful social-pedagogical projects in Europe.
The original idea of Christian Winkler, the founder of the society „Mirno more-Friedensflotte“, was to connect children and the young from various republics of former Yugoslavia into mutual socializing during one-week sailing on the Adriatic Sea, around the area of Kornati (Croatia). Under the motto: Give up all prejudices and live together on one boat”, this project has been developing for the last 17 years from 17 to over 1000 children and the young-the participants of the fleet, that is from 3 to more than 105 boats which make this fleet together with their children crews.
The biggest part of the fleet today are children from Austria (from children`s villages, children`s homes, handicapped children from incomplete families, children with psychophysical disturbances in developoment, refugees), regardless their ethnical, social, cultural and language origin. The participants of the „Peace fleet“ are children and the young from more than 20 countries, more than 25 nationalities. In this way organized sailing, having lived together on one boat, children and the young learn about overcoming and giving up prejudices, tolerance, non-violent solutions to problems and spreading understanding among peoples.
Owing to the invitation of Svetlana Filipov, the member of Presidency “Mirno more - Friedensflotte“, non-govermen organisation „Festival of Ecological Theatre for Children“ from Bačka Palanka enters into this project as the first official partner from Serbia.
Since then the Serbia is participating in the project under the name “Flota mira Mirno more Srbija“ and is together with Mirno more Croatia and Mirno more BiH part of KBS-Mirno more group within the Peace fleet. Their ships are always sailing together during the fleet in September. 2007 ŠOSO „Milan Petrović“ from Novi Sad, 2008 Gimnazija ”20. oktobar” from Bačka Palanka and 2011 OŠ „Petefi Šandor“ from Novi Sad joined our project and became a part of Mirno more Srbija.
Since then more than 70 children, young and their teachers from Serbia partaken on international „A1 Mirno more - Friedensflotte“.
